These were tough to do...not by execution, but by idea. I came up with 3 different sets of ideas and ultimately this is the route I decided to go. All three of these movies represent a very special time in my life. They all have adventure, comedy, warmth, and some form of weird creature / monster. Watching these movies was like eating a good piece of candy, so I wanted them to be bright and represent that sweetness and pop. I also wanted them to compliment each other, so I used Black as the base and then Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow for the rest. Putting together and participating in this show has been quite an amazing and unforgettable experience. Can't wait to be consumed by the amazing art and nostalgia this Friday night!

Going on an adventure!

"You'd better look out below!"

From a "wild" weekend, I was inspired and did my own tribute to Maurice Sendak's "Where the Wild things Are." I had a lot of fun with this one, especially working with a pastel palette and experimenting with different forms of shading. Hope you like! Roar!

La Llorona

"La Llorona was once a woman, until she turned crazy from jealousy of her husband cheating on her with another woman. Out of revenge and despair she drowns her own child and kills herself. Today she can be heard crying among rivers looking for her drowned child. She resides mostly around Mexico."

An Illustration of one my favorite folklore monsters, La Llorona. This is for the upcoming Tiki Machine Folklore book, put together by my friend Mike Collins. The book consists of different Illustrators and Animators from all around the globe, including the Autumn Society's Justin Gray, Anita Mejia, Alicia Neal, Anthony Pedro, and Bobby O'herlihy. Stay tuned for the official release sometime in September. Cheers!

Round 1 - Ryu (リュウ)

I've always had a soft spot for Street Fighter. Forget Primal Rage, Killer Instinct or Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter was the fighting game for me! I even loved the terrible 1994 film version when it came out. Ryu has always been one of my favorites. Can you guess the next two? Hadōken!!!

PCS #3

These were made for the Philadelphia Cartoonist Society's third Anthology Book. The theme of the book was none other than Philadelphia itself. This is a short story about an Astronaut, his pigeon pet, on his daily routine before take off.

Kenshiro

A sweet / fan art project started by Matt Cavanaugh, will feature Fist of the North Star characters as interpreted by Alex Eckman-Lawn, Eamon Dougherty, Matt, and yours truly. The project will premiere at Baltimore Comic Con this weekend. Enjoy!

TRANSFORM!

Here's my Transformers submission for the next issue of Cereal Geek magazine!

TEENAGE BROTHERS (RE-SHELLED & JAPANESE TEXTED) + SHREDDER

Gears of Gore

I originally intended to release this for the 8-bit & Beyond show, but did not have enough time to finish it. I'm usually not for all the violent shoot 'em up games we have nowadays, but this game is an exception. Like Bio-shock, it has a great story, some great characters, and some amazing and creative gore.

P.S. I know the Locust's blood is not red, just using some creative license.

The Fight of the Century is here!

The fight of the century is finally here and you can check it out at the Autumn Society's Golden Age Show (of Comics & Animation), premiering today, July 3rd at Brave New Worlds Comics. Be there!

80s Sidekick Series

Growing up in the 80s I always found it that the side kick characters or mascots from cartoons were the hardest toys to find. Inspired by these hard to find characters, I decided to do a series of three that were my favorite! Here's my first from Masters of the Universe, Orko.

Here's the second one from The Real Ghostbusters, Slimer!
And here is the third and final one from Thundercats, Snarf!

PROCESS: V-DAY CARD

Hey everyone!
As some of you know, I do commercial Illustration for different companies from time to time. For the most part this type of Illustration has a super tight deadline (like 6-8 hours) to complete. So I thought I'd share the process for a promotional card I did for a design company, for Valentine's Day. This took me about 8 hours total with sketches, revisions, and prints. Enjoy!
